F an Performance Testing Laborato- ry developed in the factory locat- ed in Kartepe district of Kocaeli by Aironn Ventilation and Air Condi- tioning Systems, a domestic invest- ment company that manufactures fan systems for many large projects in Tur- key and abroad, has been accredited by AMCA. The Aironn Fan Test Labora- tory was presented to the industry at a launch meeting, held with 350 attend- ees, with representatives also from Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Ser- bia, Iran, USA, and Turkey, as well as Nazme Mohsina, Technical Coordinator of AMCA (International Air Movement and Control Association). In the open- ing speech of the event, which took place at the Sheraton Grand Ataşehir Hotel on September 18, 2019, with the participation of approximately 350 people, Uğur Akgül stated the following “We are exporting 70% of our products abroad, are a 100% domestic engi- neering company. The fan performance test setup, that we have constructed within the framework of a university-in- dustry cooperation project, is the only test setup in our country and the re- gion. This is an honoring success for us and our country. Thanks to this test setup, we will further expand our exist- ing markets. This test setup confirms the verification between your claim about your devices and the truth with an indisputable assurance of interna- tional validity. With this test setup, we will be able to provide an internation- al verification assurance service to all companies. Now, the competition will begin to be comparable with fairer con- ditions and more objective criteria.” Efe Ünal, Aironn Deputy General Man- ager and Head of R&D Department, briefed the participants regarding the installation phases and ongoing projects of the company’s accredit- ed test laboratory. Ünal said, “We dreamed, worked hard and succeed- ed in this process. The test setup we have established in our factory accord- ing to AMCA 210-16 was accredited by AMCA, and we broke new grounds in Turkey. There are 17 figures in the AMCA 210-16 standard, meaning, 17 different measurements can be made. We preferred Figure 13, and we have the only Figure 13 accreditation world- wide in this capacity.” Ünal, stating that the test setup installation process began with design and planning, said that they dealt with design and plan- ning in 4 main groups: Aerodynamic Design, Mechanical Design, Sensor and Power Systems, and Scada, and gave detailed technical information about the test setup.
